Whether you are down in Grand Isle or up by Grand Bayou or are just visiting the Pelican State, you'll find a cleverly illustrated alphabet of items to identify. Each page features multiple things that move and start with the same letter. Labels assist emerging readers as they match words to images and encourage a discussion of things that go in their lives. A perfect choice for classroom, travel, and family reading!

Author Biography

New Orleanian Scott Campbell is a lifelong entrepreneur. He has enjoyed success producing large-scale events and has worked in marketing, public relations, sales, and development. Campbell's career has taken him throughout the United States, from New Orleans, Louisiana, to San Diego and Orange County, California, to Detroit, Michigan, and back to New Orleans. He worked in the publishing industry for nine years before founding River Road Press in 2014, where he served as publisher. Campbell sold his company in 2020 to Arcadia Publishing and was appointed as publisher of Pelican Publishing that year. Nine-year-old Tallulah Campbell, the daughter of Scott Campbell and Marci Schramm, began learning the publishing business at an early age and has helped with every facet of the business--from sales to the creative process. Tallulah began attending Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans at three years old and is fluent in French. She is also a competitive swimmer. Melissa Vandiver is a New Orleans-based artist and illustrator specializing in acrylic, gouache, and watercolor. Her artistic mission is simple: to create images that evoke joy in a dark world. She grew up in South Carolina, and has been drawing and painting since she can remember. Vandiver studied architecture at Clemson University, combining her math brain with her art brain. She is best known for her whimsical themed pet portraits and for children's illustrations. When not drawing and painting, Vandiver is glittering, hot gluing, talking to dogs like they're people, working on costumes and floats, and other general introvert fun.

Number of Pages: 32

Dimensions: 0.4 x 11.1 x 8.6 IN

Illustrated: Yes

Publication Date: March 01, 2021
