In the 1990s he worked for \u003ci\u003ePrivate Eye magazine\u003c\/i\u003e, writing the Rotten Boroughs column about council corruption. He has also contributed to \u003ci\u003eThe Sunday Times, Independent\u003c\/i\u003e and the \u003ci\u003eNew Statesman\u003c\/i\u003e. He was launch production editor for \u003ci\u003eMojo\u003c\/i\u003e, the rock 'n' roll magazine. Glinert has written a number of books for major publishers including \u003ci\u003eThe London Compendium\u003c\/i\u003e (2003) and \u003ci\u003eEast End Chronicles\u003c\/i\u003e (2005). Since 2009 he has run the highly-successful New Manchester Walks tour company. His first camera was a Kodak Instamatic. Since then he's used every type of camera imaginable: from bulky 4x5 film cameras to pocket-sized digital compacts. David has written nearly 40 books about photography, as well as supplying images and articles to both regional and national magazines.
