In 1988, she moved to New York City with her husband poet Jerome Sala. Over the years, her witty, aphoristic, and innovative work has become nationally and internationally known. Her last book, \u003ci\u003eRipple Effect: New \u0026amp; Selected Poems\u003c\/i\u003e, was a finalist for the \u003ci\u003eLos Angeles Times\u003c\/i\u003e Book Prize and on the short list for Canada's prestigious Griffin Poetry Prize. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003eAmong her other titles are \u003ci\u003eSurface Tension\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eDecoy\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eVoice-Over\u003c\/i\u003e, which won the San Francisco State University Poetry Center Award, and \u003ci\u003eThe Cloud of Knowable Things\u003c\/i\u003e.
